A Couple of years ago

I started this quilt.  I picked up Barbara Brackman's Civil War Sampler book and an interesting journey began. Each block is from old civil war time quilt patterns and each had a story to read about the civil war. I cant believe it took so long to do.  Of course I have had various projects in between time, so I haven't been idle. I am not like you very dedicated ladies out there that finish quilts in a couple of weeks.   I guess that's obvious, lol.... I have a great deal of respect for your steadfastness.   My quilt went from a King size idea down to a twin size. Thank goodness, otherwise it would still be sitting there to be finished, it was hard enough to handle as it grew block by block.  But, done it is:

Putting on the binding

I stitched the back of the binding by hand

Yay, putting on the bed

Now to make a pillow case and a couple of throw pillows....

Hugs, LJ
