Not a lot has been happening except working in yard, trying to catch up on the weeding, and some new plants. Mowing and trimming. It is all a bit much for me as I get older so it takes me a lot longer to get it all done.
When I was visiting my niece she had bought a walking doll from ebay for her granddaughter which led to the discussion about dolls we had when we were young. I told her I had a Ginny doll when I was little that I absolutely loved. Guess what I received in the mail, yep, you guessed it....
This pic came out a little better.
She also sent me a pattern so I can duplicate the little dress my doll had.
The doll I had was dressed in the plaid dress with the ruffle blouse and I also had the cloak. When it is a quieter time this winter I will make these for my Ginny doll. This brought back wonderful memories of a time when I was young....
Till next time, lots of hugs to you all....

How precious! You will have such fun making clothes and dressing her. Mildred and I were just talking about a friend making handmade doll clothes when we were children.
ReplyDeleteWhat a thoughtful gift and now I can't wait to see the dress and cloak you make for her!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great gift. Be sure and post pictures when you get her new dress done!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great gift!! My fave doll when i was a kid was called Triki Miki. She's an 8" doll that could also share clothes with the Dawn dolls, but her joints were all articulated so she could do more stuff. She came wearing a groovy flowered orange jumpsuit.
ReplyDeleteSweet doll!
ReplyDeleteA very sweet and thoughtful gift and how nice to receive a pattern too. A good winter-time project. God bless your weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe gift of the doll is priceless!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd ya, I understand completely....yard work is NEVER done. Once you get one chore completed, there is another...then, in no time, it's time to start anew.
What a sweet gift to receive! I bet you'll have fun making clothes for her too.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet for her to gift you with such a special memory. Good luck with sewing for your new treasure. Hope you have fun!
ReplyDeleteWasn't that a sweet and thoughtful gift for you :)
ReplyDeleteI only had a couple of dolls growing up, I preferred horses, the toy kind and the real ones...lol
Happy 4th July to you also, have a safe one.

Happy 4th of July. Cute dolls. I have a few myself.
ReplyDeleteThat was so sweet of her to send you the Ginny doll. It looks like it's in perfect condition, too! I've been watching Ebay for the Chatty Cathy ones 'cause I liked hers so much. We are just little kids at heart. haha Good way to be!
