Hummingbirds galore

But do you think I can catch a pic of them.  They are just too fast for me.

I was buying the red liquid you can buy at Walmart for them but then I ran out. It was so hot and I knew they needed their fix, so I went on the internet and found this recipe.  Melt 1/4 cup of sugar into 1 cup of water to almost a boil.  Cool and add to feeder.  OMG... the hummingbirds are fighting over it.  They dive bomb each other to get to it...

I will keep trying to get a pic....

Hugs, LJ

  3. I have only seen one hummingbird this summer. They are super hard to photograph! I had a bed of pinks one year and the hummingbirds loved them!! Thanks for visiting me. Have a great weekend!

  6. I've been meaning to get a hummingbird feeder for years and I keep forgetting. I heard that the commercial nectar isn't really good for them, so what you are doing is perfect!

  8. We use the red feeder from Walmart too...but it fades to clear in the sun. We haven't seen a hummer this year, so disappointed.

  10. I love your new header. The setting looks so calm and peaceful. I love hummers, too! I have seen a few this summer. My feeder broke and I have to replace it. Hope you can get a picture of them. How's Max doing?

  11. I was never able to get a hummingbird photo in all our years living in VA and hanging the feeders out. And, yes, we did make our own homemade hummingbird nectar. You can also add food coloring if you want the red color.
