GOING TO A QUILT SHOW WITH MY BFF

Scroll down for my GiveAWay & A Trip To JoAnn's

I have the tote partially put together.  I am going to love it. I had to go to JoAnns to get black fabric for the insert.   Guess who didn't have black in their stash?  Can you believe that???  I won't show the tote until it is all done....

While there I decided to pick out some fabric for the civil war sampler.  I had a 25% off coupon for the whole purchase, yay.... I will need 81 -  12" blocks to do this quilt (Gosh that's a lot of blocks!) This will take months to finish... I don't know what the heck I am doing.  I haven't figured out how much fabric yet, but I couldn't wait, I want to play.

The first 2 blocks look pretty easy or so they tell me, I will reserve judgment, lol... I have a couple other fabrics to add from my stash.

I need to check out Keepsake Fabric and Missouri Star Quilt.  JoAnn's didn't have a huge selection to consider for this type of quilt.  I will have to decide how much fabric I will need for the blocks also.

The black for the insert and the handles of the tote didn't come out really black  in the pic. There is not a lot of black in the tote but enough I think so it will look ok.  The tote is pretty bright already,  you will need sunglasses to look at it....

Please scroll down for the info on the give a way...... till next time, LJ

  1. I have never made a quilt before. However, my mom worked in a fabric store when I was a child, and I dearly loved to browse the fabrics. I would make lots of aprons out of one tried and true pattern! You have chosen some beautiful fabric!

  3. I really like your fabric choices so far... just take it a step at a time so that you don't get overwhelmed! It'll be done in no time!
